EMBEDDING SCAN

A mirror for the layer your strategy has not yet named

Forty minutes, thirteen topics, fifty-eight questions, in English or Dutch. You walk out with a structured read of what your work is doing inside the organisation, in language you take into your next meeting. Demo opens two topics in ten minutes, free.

THE INSTRUMENT

58 questions, 13 topics, one wheel

Embedding wheel showing 58 sub-themes across 13 topics with a mid-curve scored example

The Embedding Scan reads your sustainability culture across 13 topics and 58 questions, then draws the result as one wheel. Each topic is a slice, and each slice has up to six sub-themes the questions read for. The further your practice has gone inside a sub-theme, the deeper the slice colours in. So when the wheel draws itself from your answers, the shape you see is your own organisation, not a benchmark, not an average, your team.

The plan reads well, the team is moving, the words for what is shifting underneath are still missing

Someone asks what you have changed inside this organisation, and the honest answer takes an hour you do not have. You have the work and the instinct, and not yet the language. That is the layer the scan reads.

WHY THIS SCAN EXISTS

What we kept hearing

These are the lines we have heard most often, sitting across from sustainability leads over the last two years.

"My CEO asked, last week, what we have achieved. And I do not know how to answer without an hour of explanation."

"Between we have decided it and we are doing it, there is a layer nobody names."

"How do you measure a culture change. Everyone asks, nobody hands you an instrument that helps."

"We have a beautiful plan, and my colleagues think I am done now."

Four lines we sit with. The research has caught up to them. A 2025 Frontiers in Psychology study of organisations with strong sustainability cultures found that targets set before the culture has matured turn performative, no matter how ambitious. The work underneath the target is what makes the target real.

Four lines, same gap. We have worked inside that gap for twenty years, across 350+ organisations in the Netherlands and the Philippines and through Europe and Asia, with 2,000+ leaders trained live and 3,000+ through e-learning. The pattern is stubborn enough to name out loud. The strategy is rarely what is stuck. The question is the layer below it, the one that takes intent and turns it into the choices people make every day.

We built the scan as the structured read of that layer. Forty minutes, thirteen topics, fifty-eight questions. Written so you do not need an hour of context to share it.

WHAT THE SCAN REVEALS

Three reads in forty minutes

ONE

Where the work has taken hold

Topics where intent, structure and behaviour are lined up at the same time. That is what embedded looks like, in practice, not in theory. These are your foundation, the slices to build the rest of the wheel against.

TWO

Where intent has not reached operations

Strategy on paper, missing in the daily work. The gap between what you say and what you do is widest here, and you usually know it before the scan tells you.

THREE

Where the gap is widest

The one or two practices that, if you shifted them, would move the most across the rest of the wheel. Your starting list for the next cycle.

HOW IT WORKS

Forty minutes from start to report

01

Answer 58 questions across 13 topics

Save and resume any time. Most leaders finish in two short sittings, not one block. No account, no password, the magic link in your inbox is the door.

02

The scan scores each topic

Built on the Embedding Framework and the FSSD principles, both peer-reviewed, twenty years of client work behind that.

03

You receive a four-page PDF report

Personalised, with your scores on every page. Free thirty-minute debrief available on the See the picture tier, once you have read the report.

What the research says

Three findings sit underneath this scan

Three research findings sit under the scan. One. Cultures of sustainability develop through four observable stages, from emergence to ingrained practice. Strong cultures are rare. Most organisations sit between stages two and three, where targets get set and momentum quietly stalls. (Frontiers in Psychology, 2025.)

Two. The implementation gap is structural, not motivational. Organisations are loosely coupled systems, so a strategy signed at the top does not automatically propagate to the daily decisions made underneath. The work needed is structural coupling work, not better intentions. (Journal of Business Ethics, Kudłak, 2024.)

Three. Of 1,041 corporate emissions targets ending in 2020, nine percent failed and thirty-one percent quietly disappeared. Three firms got media coverage. Without embedding work, targets get announced, then drift, then vanish. (Nature Climate Change, 2025.)

The Embedding Scan reads where on these patterns your organisation sits. Forty minutes, your wheel, your language.

WHAT YOU RECEIVE

A four-page report your board will read

The report runs four pages, all personalised to your results. Page one is the cover, with the embedding wheel coloured to your own scores. Page two is the executive summary, overall maturity and four findings, written to be read by a board in three minutes. Page three is the scoreboard across all thirteen topics, with strongest practice and biggest gap called out on each one. Page four sets out the FSSD principles the work is embedding toward, and an invitation to debrief if you want a structured second opinion.

If you bought the scan at the See the picture tier, that debrief is a free thirty-minute call with us. Not a sales conversation. A second pair of eyes on what the scan turned up, before you take it to your team.

FOR TEAMS

Read your team from the inside

The Team scan gives an executive team a shared, anonymous read of where sustainability sits across the group. It is for teams that suspect something is off. You want a shared map before the next strategy retreat. You want a way to surface it without putting anyone on the spot. The diagnostic does that work for you. It becomes a group conversation that holds the honesty because no individual answers go on the table.

Every team member takes the scan privately. Their answers stay with them, full stop. What you see, as the team lead, is the aggregate. The patterns where the team agrees. The patterns where the team is reading the same situation in two equally smart ways and not knowing it. That mismatch, the one between two smart readings, is usually where the embedding work has to start.

HOW THE TEAM SCAN WORKS

  1. Buy a team licence. Three seats at €750.
  2. Invite your team via one-click links.
  3. Each person takes the scan privately, forty minutes.
  4. You see the aggregate. Individual scores stay private.
  5. Sixty-minute debrief with a FutureFit Collab partner.

Privacy is a product feature here, not a footnote.

What changes after the scan

From diagnosis to decisions

A scan tells you where your organisation stands today. The question a careful leader asks next is whether anything moves once the report is closed. Here is what people say once the diagnosis turns into a decision.

“Thanks to this approach we have taken proactive and strategic decisions that have been good for the company.”

Chief executive, Polarbrödsgruppen

“Our sustainability work has turned out to be one of our most profitable initiatives ever. More profitable than opening a new restaurant.”

Owner, European restaurant group

“We are not learning answers here. We are learning how to work together on the hard questions, and together we have the knowledge and the drive to act.”

Team lead, construction sector

The scan is where that starts. Forty minutes, thirteen topics, your own result to work from.

A NOTE FROM FUTUREFIT COLLAB

If you need a glossy deliverable by quarter end, this is not the room. If you want the embedding to take, it is. We build the culture underneath the report, which takes longer than a quarter, and the scan is the forty-minute read of where that culture sits in your organisation today. The page on sustainable culture design carries the broader thinking behind this scan.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Honest answers

How long does the scan take?

About forty minutes for 58 questions across 13 topics. The scan saves your progress every few seconds, so you sign back in whenever and pick up where you left off. Most leaders finish in two short sittings, not one block. The free demo opens two of the thirteen and takes around ten minutes.

Who sees my answers?

FutureFit Collab, only. Your responses sit in a private database, used to generate your report and to prepare your debrief if you book one. Never sold. Never shared with third parties. Never used for marketing.

Is the report personalised to my organisation?

Yes. Every page draws on your specific scores. The cover features your organisation name and the wheel coloured to your results. The scoreboard names your strongest topic, your biggest gap and the three priority practices that would shift the most across the rest of the wheel.

What happens after I receive the report?

You read it. You decide what to do with it. If you bought at the See the picture tier, the free thirty-minute debrief is yours to book once you have read the report. The other tiers include the debrief in the price.

What does a team scan look like?

You buy a team licence with three seats. Each member takes the scan privately, and individual scores stay with them. You receive a team aggregate that shows the shared read alongside the gaps where people see the same situation in two equally smart ways. A FutureFit Collab partner walks you through the aggregate in a sixty-minute debrief. More than three seats, email us and we tailor a licence.
